About The Man
Eric Reeve and his wife Laura live in their log cabin in Branch, Missouri.Prior to moving to the Lake of the Ozarks in 1994 the couple resided in Belleville, Illinois (across the Mississippi river from St. Louis).They have four beautiful daughters and are blessed with four grandchildren. The couple moved to Osage Beach shortly after purchasing the Days Inn Lake of the Ozarks hotel/motel. They also owned and operated the Somewhere In Time antique store in Linn Creek, Missouri.From owning his own travel agency to being employed in management with Celebrity Cruise Lines he has been involved in the hospitality/travel industry most of his professional life. He has the unique experience of being both a business owner and as an employer here in Missouri.
Throughout Eric's life he has served his community through volunteer work, sometimes delivering turkeys to needy families during the holidays or, "Hands on" chairing committees which have raised thousands of dollars for worthy causes. His charity efforts raised eight thousand dollars for children suffering from autism and seven thousand dollars for the local Citizens Against Domestic Violence Shelter. He has served on the board of Directors of the Citizens For The Disabled, Vice President of the Illinois Jaycees, President of the Missouri Ozark Muzzleloaders, appointed Town Marshal (Macks Creek, MO), Big Brothers/Big Sisters (big brother mentor) and he has volunteered as a karate instructor for the last six years for rural children who could not afford lessons (no child is ever turned away for their inability to pay for their lessons). While they owned the Days Inn in Osage Beach, MO, the Reeves took in battered women and children free of charge whenever the local shelter was full.
Eric has served on numerous Chamber of Commerce committees including elections, Lake Water Committee, liaison between the lake hotel owners and the Lake Chamber. He has served as the Macks Creek Community Chest Chairman and Friends of the Park Chairman. He is a past member of the Tri-County Lodging Association, Lake Area Tourist Board, the Rotary Club and Toastmasters. For his professional and private achievements he was selected as one of the Outstanding Young Men of America twice 1986/1987. He was awarded the Service Above Self award from the Rotary Club and he was awarded a Kentucky Colonel's commission by former Kentucky Governor, Paul Patton.
Eric has also worked with the well known local Reverend Larry Rice of the New Life Evangelistic Center Church and homeless shelters. When The Reverend Rice was opening new homeless shelters Eric and his wife Laura donated 37 bedroom sets including beds, desks and chairs. |
